Thank you for all the help you have given me in establishing the cause of the dreadfully itchy, painful and unsightly rash that has developed on my face.
After a thorough investigation, you concluded that the problem is that I am allergic to gluten and have a low tolerance of dairy products. I was then put on a strict diet to repair the gut damage. The damage took about 4 months to repair and since then I have only had one major outbreak which was caused by my own thoughtlessness.

I met with Mark after years of trouble with my digestion. I was looking for some support with getting to the root of the problem, which I thought was not based in Medicine, but in what I ate. Mark supported me by helping put together a plan to exclude foods that could be causing problem, and gave a great deal of support with meal plans, substitutes and suggestions! With the help of nutritional therapy I solved years of digestive difficulties much quicker than if I had attempted to do the same myself, and I feel like a better version of myself (with much more energy)!

I originally contacted Mark Bennett after seeing my GP for stress-related stomach problems. She decided I was suffering from IBS and prescribed a course of oral medication to be taken ‘when symptoms were present’. When I asked how long I was to take this medication, she replied, as long as I was suffering from IBS.
I was not happy with this solution and wanted to find a better, more holistic way of managing my reactions to stress and one which did not mean that I was to be taking medication for an unquantified time period. I had considered myself to be fit, running several times a week and going to yoga regularly, and I thought I had a healthy diet but I still did not feel great and suffered repeated injury. This was contributing to my overall lethargy which combined with the signs of IBS and lack of good sleep meant I was grumpy and tired much of the time.
At our initial consultation Mark Bennett and I discussed my life, my job and my diet. His thorough attention to the mundane details of my life meant that he had a very good idea of my day-to-day life and work schedule as well as what food and drink I had been putting in my body. He suggested a series of blood and stool tests be run and after those were done, I was put on a 28 day elimination diet which removes all foods that can trigger reaction (diary, gluten, processed food, alcohol…etc.). After one week, I started sleeping better and within the 28 days had dropped from over 11 stone down to 10 stone. My body felt lighter, I had far more energy and, a particular unexpected bonus, my hormones no longer seemed to be in the control of another, slightly-deranged person.
I have now begun to slowly reintroduce foods back into my diet with an emphasis on freshness and flavour and I feel that I have created the foundation to maintaining a far healthier lifestyle.
